We have fished all over the United States and put together a list of our top 5 fishing destinations in America. Whether you enjoy sport fishing with one of our salt water face shields or just a casual day trip on the water, America has a spot for you. This country has some of the most breathtaking spots in which to enjoy.

#5: Seattle, WA

One of Seattle’s highlights is that there is an abundance of salt and freshwater fishing spots within a few minutes of downtown. With over 2,500 miles of shoreline and 10,000+ rivers & streams you can have your pick! Lake Union, Lake Washington and Puget Sound are 3 of the largest top fishing spots within Seattle. There are over 105 species of fish in Seattle alone including Bass, Cod, Flounder, Chinook Salmon, Halibut and many more. If you are looking to take a trip out to Seattle for some grade A fishing we recommend you stay at The Edgewater Hotel located at 2411 Alaskan Way, Seattle, WA 98121. So grab your S.A. Team performance fishing apparel and head out to Seattle this season!

#4: South Padre Island, TX

This spot is almost too south to be considered the USA but luckily for us salt water lovers it is! South Padre’s miles of coastline get filled up during their legendary spring break events but alongside all the party goers is a plethora of fine fish. The beauty about this spot is the fact that they have 2 unbelievable fishing destinations right next to each other. Head over to the west side which is Laguna Madre and you’ll be reeling in some feisty redfish, snook and speckled trout. While the next day you can fish on the east side in the Gulf of Mexico were wahoo, mahi mahi, snapper, tuna and some good eatin is waiting for you. The Isla Grand Beach Resort located at 500 Padre Boulevard, South Padre Island, TX 78597 is one of the best hotels in town!

#3: Mammoth Lakes, CA

Quiet, serene, lush and beautiful are a few words that can describe Mammoth Lakes which is located in the Inyo National Forest. This hidden gem is just 32 miles south of Yosemite National Park. Here you can enjoy fly fishing, drop line fishing and small craft boat fishing away from all the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The lakes are filled with Rainbow Trout, Alpine Trout, Brooke Trout, Cutthroat Trout and much more! The lakes were scooped out by glaciers long ago and contain about 15,000 pounds of fish ranging from 2-5 pounds. Juniper Springs Resort located at 4000 Meridian Boulevard, Mammoth Lakes, CA 93546 is a nice tranquil spot.

#2 Miami, FL

The sunshine state is know for their oranges but saltwater fishing and freshwater fishing is where its at! Slap on your gimbal covers and S.A. Team clothing because Biscayne Bay and the Florida Keys are calling your name. Miami is one of America’s top fishing destinations with miles of coastline to enjoy saltwater catches and the backcountry freshwater Everglades. Last year alone there were over 29.3 million saltwater fishing trips that went out of Miami and fishermen spend just over 7 billion dollars a year here. Miami’s fishing community is very large and thriving. You can expect to catch Snook, fighting Tarpon, Snapper, Striped Bass, Redfish and Bonefish (with a permit) down south. Fishing enthusiasts can partake in pier fishing, backwater flats fishing, deep sea and sport fishing just to name a few. The Palms Hotel located at 3025 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, FL 33140 is a lovely spot but if you want something nice but more affordable the Coconut Palm Inn located at MM 92 Bayside Key Largo is another great option.

#1 San Diego, CA

“Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means ‘a whale’s vagina.’” — Ron Burgundy

Maybe Ron Burgundy has his San Diego history wrong but it is for sure one of the top Sport Fishing Capitals in the world. This city has a huge sport fishing community and is located conveniently close the most amazing Tuna and Billfish waters within the Pacific Ocean. It doesn’t get much better than that! A few of the top local fishing areas are Blue Water, San Diego Bay, Barrett Lake and El Capitan Reservoir. Making a trip out here is well worth it and you’ll enjoying catching amazing Swordfish, Marlin, Yellowfin Tuna, Sea bass and Halibut. Not for nothing the seafood that is served here is some of the very best. With surf fishing, pier fishing, deep sea and sport fishing alongside the view you are indeed going to have an amazing trip.
